The insulation is a radiant reflectix insulation barrier that is sandwiched between the outer wall and an inner mahogany ply panel. The insulation is in both roof half's and the 4 walls. If they wish to insulate the floor, than I recommend a pet mat. The insulation looks like bubble wrap(for insulating air gap) with aluminum foil on both sides. Its job is to reflect radiant heat away from the dog house in the summer and to reflect the animals body heat back on them during the winter. Its a very effective product used in basements and garages in the northern climates. Like all insulation the idea is "slow" heat transfer. If the customer lives in an extreme area either hot or cold it is very important for the customer to purchase a climate control unit of some kind. Any insulation no matter how thick or how good will only slow down heat and cold transfer, it will never stop it.

Split door refers to how many sections of the door there is. the small house has a one piece door and the rest have 2 or more pieces to the door. This makes it easier for the pet to go in and out of the dog house. Most animals are intimidated by larger one piece door flaps, so we make them in multiple pieces so the pet can walk through the door instead of pushing the door out of the way.
